Stacee has been an active member of the Bloomington and Monroe County communities. She was a member of the Board of Directors of Big Brothers Big Sisters of South Central Indiana from 1997 to 2005, and served as Board President from 1998 to 2002. She was co-chair of the Mosaic Diversity Film Festival, served on the organizational committees for the Bleeding Heartland Roller Girls, was a youth fencing coach for the Bloomington Fencing Club, and has served Monroe County as a poll worker at primary and general elections since 2006. She was a co-author and co-presenter of “Civil and Uncivil Rights in the 21st Century” at the 2009 Midwest Bisexual Lesbian Gay Transgender Ally College Conference at Indiana University-Bloomington in 2009.

Stacee Williams graduated from the Indiana University School of Law in 1996 and worked as an associate with the Bloomington law firm Andrews, Harrell, Mann, Chapman & Coyne for three years following law school. In 1999 she took a position as in-house counsel with Marvel Title Co., where she worked until starting as a staff attorney at I.U. Student Legal Services in March of 2002. In January 2015, Stacee was appointed Interim Director of SLS, where she remains today, overseeing staff attorneys and interns who serve the legal needs of all Indiana University students.​
